The present Regulations are made under section 6 of the Northwest Territories Lands Act. Section 4 establishes that an application to lease or purchase territorial lands must be made to a land agent and must be accompanied by the application fee set out in the Schedule. The text - consisting of 18 sections deals with the following aspects: sale of territorial lands, leasing of territorial lands, grazing leases, fees.

This Decree establishes the modalities of conclusion of contract for lease of public land and land local government. It contains the modalities of calculation of lease rent, lays down essential provisions inserted in lease contract and model form of lease contract. Interested natural and legal person shall submit to local government or state body application containing cadastre identification number of the plot of land requested in lease, specifying intended period of lease.

Esta ley tiene como finalidad regular la actividad agrícola sujeta al régimen de aparcería, precisando las modalidades mediante las cuales, previo contrato, una persona entrega un predio a otra, y ésta a su vez, se obliga a cultivarlo para repartirse los frutos entre sí. La Ley define los derechos y obligaciones que derivan del contrato de aparcería, las modalidades para celebrarlo (forma escrita ante dos testigos), su contenido y las causas de extinción.

Areas of public forest and pasture maybe leased to public or private entities through public biddings. The designated bodies for examining and approving the awards, rules of procedure, and the type of activities allowed on these areas are provided for in the Instruction.

Article 3 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Regional executive body shall conclude lease contracts, shall legalize purchase and sale contracts related to land plots pertaining to the regional ownership in accordance with legal deed by the Regional Government”.

These Regulations prescribe terms, set out in Schedule 1, as to the maintenance, repair and insurance of fixed equipment which are deemed to be incorporated in every contract of tenancy of an agricultural holding except where they would impose on one of the parties to a written agreement a liability which under the agreement is imposed on the other. They divides between the landlord and the tenant of a holding the responsibility for maintaining, repairing and insuring fixed equipment, and imposes upon each party certain specific liabilities in regard to those matters.

Article 8.1 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Regional Government shall exercise the following plenary powers: (a) governance of regional public land; (b) allotment of land plots pertaining to regional property free of charge in ownership or in open-ended hereditary possession or tenancy; (c) land valuation for the purpose of conclusion of purchase and sale contracts; (d) establishment of land lease fees; (e) establishment of servitude fees and establishment of public servitude; and (f) validation of average cadastre value of land”.

This Regional Law specifies the grounds for decision-making on refusal to call for tenders for sale of land plots or for conclusion of land lease contracts. It shall be applicable to the plots of public or municipal land with undelimited jurisdictional competence.

This Regional Law regulates relations dealing with land tenure, protection and conservation of land, establishing plenary powers of regional state bodies in this sphere. It establishes minimum (equal to minimum land area authorized for construction in accordance with land-use planning provisions) and maximum (up to 1,500 square meters) public and municipal land areas for plots of land allotted to families for housing construction. It envisages allotment of public agricultural land to citizens with three and more dependent children for family farming and/or subsistence farming.

This Regional Law regulates relations dealing with land tenure, protection and conservation of land, establishing plenary powers of regional state bodies in this sphere. It establishes minimum (0, 04 ha) and maximum (100 ha) public and municipal land areas for plots of land allotted for family farming, and minimum (0, 04 ha) of consolidated plots of agricultural land. Single natural or legal persons cannot have in ownership more than 20 percent of the whole available agricultural land area on the regional territory.
