Centre for the Study of African Economies - Oxford University

CSAE

The Centre for the Study of African Economies (CSAE) is an economic research centre within the Department of Economics at Oxford University.


CSAE carries out economic research with a particular focus on Africa. Its aim is to improve economic and social conditions in the poorest societies. CSAE researchers often use unique data which give them unrivalled insight into the underlying issues. The resulting policy recommendations address questions in the economic and political spheres as well as in civil society in developing countries.

The stated aim of Eastern and Central Africa Programme for Agricultural Policy Analysis (ECAPAPA) is to promote regional economic growth through application of growth-enhancing agricultural policies and, in the process, to help build a sustainable capacity in eastern and central Africa to utilise and contribute to agricultural policy research and analysis.

Institute for Fisheries Management and Coastal Community Development - Aalborg University

IFM

IFM is a social science research and advisory centre working with fisheries and marine management and coastal community development. In particular, IFM focuses on questions of governance within an ecosystem-based approach to marine management. IFM is specialised in crossdisciplinary collaboration and is frequently teaming up with institutions/colleagues from other disciplines in order to develop suitable solutions to the problems in question.


 

International Center for Living Aquatic Resources Management

ICLARM

ICLARM, the International Center for Living Aquatic Resources Management, is a relative newcomer to the small group of mission-oriented research organizations concerned with international fisheries. It was organized in 1975 and incorporated in 1977 in the Philippines where it maintains its headquarters. The Rockefeller Foundation developed the concept leading to ICLARM, and remains its principal donor.
