National Academic Research and Collaborations Information System (NARCIS) is the main Dutch national portal for those looking for information about researchers and their work. NARCIS aggregates data from around 30 institutional repositories. Besides researchers, NARCIS is also used by students, journalists and people working in educational and government institutions as well as the business sector.
NARCIS provides access to scientific information, including (open access) publications from the repositories of all the Dutch universities, KNAW, NWO and a number of research institutes, datasets from some data archives as well as descriptions of research projects, researchers and research institutes.
This means that NARCIS cannot be used as an entry point to access complete overviews of publications of researchers (yet). However, there are more institutions that make all their scientific publications accessible via NARCIS. By doing so, it will become possible to create much more complete publication lists of researchers.
In 2004, the development of NARCIS started as a cooperation project of KNAW Research Information, NWO, VSNU and METIS, as part of the development of services within the DARE programme of SURFfoundation. This project resulted in the NARCIS portal, in which the DAREnet service was incorporated in January 2007. NARCIS has been part of DANS since 2011.
DANS - Data Archiving and Networked Services - is the Netherlands Institute for permanent access to digital research resources. DANS encourages researchers to make their digital research data and related outputs Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable.

Hippe begrippen, buzzwords en concepten; men komt ze regelmatig tegen in het alledaagse, wetenschappelijke en politieke taalgebruik. Sommige sterven een vroege dood. Ze worden afgedaan als holle retoriek, raken uit de mode of veranderen van naam. Andere ontstijgen de modegrillen en gaan deel uitmaken van het vocabulaire van velen. `Draagvlak¿ lijkt zo¿n begrip te zijn. We zijn het in de afgelopen jaren met grote regelmaat tegengekomen. In gesprekken met ambtenaren, wetenschappers en politici maar ook in uiteenlopende rapporten en nota¿s.
Landschap in Natuurbalans 2005: signalen over landschapsdynamiek en ruimtegebruik
Voor de Natuurbalans 2005 heeft het Milieu- en Natuurplanbureau analyses verricht van veranderingen in het ruimtegebruik en het effect daarvan op de kwaliteit van het landschap. Verstedelijking speelt daar een belangrijke rol in. Tevens neemt men verstening waar in het landelijk gebied: landbouwbedrijven krijgen een meer industrieel karakter met grote schuren en silo's
Verwachtingen en voorlopige resultaten van de reconstructie zandgebieden : achtergrondrapport van de evaluatie reconstructie zandgebieden
Deze tussenrapportage van de evaluatie van de reconstructie zandgebieden omvat een globale analyse en beoordeling van de (voorgenomen) resultaten van de reconstructie zandgebieden tot de zomer van 2006. De resultaten worden eerst beschreven vanuit zes deelperspectieven op de reconstructie: procesmatige en organisatorische vernieuwing, instrumentele vernieuwing, uitvoering van omgevingsbeleid, veterinaire veiligheid, economisch perspectief van de landbouw en sociaal-economische vitaliteit/leefbaarheid.
Climate adaptation in the Netherlands
IPCC (2001) indicates that climate change will take place despite the mitigation strategies that are going to be implemented. This calls for adaptation strategies in order to reduce the vulnerability to climate change. The aim of this project was to make a policy assessment to contribute to a more thorough understanding of the adaptation options, their costs and benefits and the policy conclusions that could be attached to the results.
