Regional Law No. 214-z amending Regional Law No. 120-z "On land reclamation".

Article 1 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Land reclamation systems of common management shall be considered land reclamation systems in common ownership of two or more persons transferred for common management to more than one natural or legal persons and also protection forest belts that are necessary for the needs of the aforesaid persons”.

Regional Law No. 33 amending Regional Law “On protected areas”.

Article 5 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Citizens, and also social associations and NGOs performing activities in the sphere of environmental protection shall have the right to assist regional state bodies in performing arrangements related to organization, protection and management of protected areas. Regional state bodies must take into consideration proposals of citizens, social associations and NGOs performing activities in the sphere of environmental protection”.

Town and Country Planning General (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2015 (S.I. No. 807 of 2015).

These Regulations amend, in relation to England, the Town and Country Planning General Regulations 1992, in regulation 4A so as to redefine the requirement for an interested planning authority to refer to the Secretary of State for determination any applications for planning permission which they make which relate solely to the demolition of an unlisted building in a conservation area.

The Vision of the present cross-sectoral Forestry Strategy 2020 (FS2020) establishes that by 2020, the Government of the Lao PDR envisages a sizeable, vigorous and robust forestry sector continuing in its role as one of the leading sectors advancing national socio-economic development. A sector in which scientifically-managed natural production forests generate timber and non-timber products at sustainable levels with village participation, under supervision and technical support from well-staffed, well-trained local and national government units.

The overall aim of the present Forestry Development Master Plan is to provide a basis for achieving sustainable utilization and development of forest and wildlife resources, modernization of the timber industry and conservation of the environment, and thereby ensure realization of the objectives of the Forest and Wildlife Policy. At the same time, the various proposals have had to take account of the need to improve the state of the environment, the complexities of land tenure and the importance of appropriate and efficient land use.

Wild and Scenic Rivers Act (16 USC 1271-1287).

This Act establishes a National Wild and Scenic Rivers System and prescribes the methods and standards through which additional rivers may be identified and added to the system. The Act authorizes the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Agriculture to study areas and submit proposals to the President and Congress for addition to the system. It describes procedures and limitations for control of lands in Federally administered components of the system and for dealing with disposition of lands and minerals under Federal ownership.

This Act directs the Secretary of the Interior, to review every roadless area of 5,000 or more acres and every roadless island within National Wildlife Refuge and National Park Systems and to recommend to the President the suitability of each such area or island for inclusion in the National Wilderness Preservation System. The National Wilderness Preservation System is to be composed of federally owned areas designated by the Congress as "wilderness areas". The Secretary of Agriculture must recommend suitable areas in the National Forest System.
