In this study,land cover data were digitized on topographical maps(1954,1984 and 2001).Land cover data were analyzed using ArcGIS and Fragstats programs.

The Uganda National Land Policy (NLP) Implementation Action Plan is a deliberate resolution by the Government of Uganda to address major challenges that have hindered the implementation of land reforms, thereby impeding the optimal utilisation of land for socio-economic development and transformation. Although successive post-independence governments have made numerous efforts to streamline land governance and reconfigure the role of land in national development, the majority of these efforts have failed to address underlying issues and have thus remained unimplemented to date.

In order to strengthen collective efforts to address these challenges and capitalize on current opportunities to scale up community land rights around the world, from September 19-20, 2013, 180 participants came together in the town of Interlaken, Switzerland.

This paper describes the start of a data sharing process to develop a consolidated community cropland map, which was initiated through a recent workshop on characterizing and validating global agricultural land cover. Participants from different organizations around the world were asked to contribute their various cropland maps prior to the workshop. Other data such as geo-tagged photos, in-situ data, classified satellite images and videos also were provided as part of this process. The data are now available online at agriculture.geo-wiki.org.

This is a techincal paper by Department of Land Resources, GoI. At present land records databases which are being maintained in various states are following state specific set of codes for different attributes like crop, soil, land use, irrigation, season, area unit and location. The Land Records Information Systems Division of National Informatics Centre, New Delhi has initiated an exercise to standardize the coding scheme for different entities in the land records database exclusively for Data warehousing and Mining purposes for central/state datacentres. 

Land use/cover changes are pervasive with no clear understanding of their spatial extends, drivers and impacts to society. Land-use changes have become a key component in the current strategies for managing and monitoring the natural resources and environment changes. The purpose of this study was to assess the land covers change and decline in sugarcane farming using a three time series of Landsat satellite images of 1984, 2000 and 2015.

Despite a history of more than 100 years and the introduction of provisional maps to support land registration, the Kenyan cadastre is largely incomplete. It consists of a patchwork of maps of different positional qualities, which would not be readily integrated to create a nation-wide coverage. This paper outlines the structure of the Kenyan cadastre and analyses the quality of the cadastral maps with regard to the requirements of modern land administration.

Planning of land use by land - is an integral part of the management of land use, which provides a mechanism by which decisions are coordinated among various local, regional and national authorities, and helps implement social responsibilities of public authorities in the use and protection of land and other natural resources.
