General
The Inclusive and Sustainable Development Support Programme for Agricultural Sectors (PADIDFA) is intended to sustain and consolidate the achievements of Green Morocco Plan (PMV), and launch its acceleration phase (2017-2020). It is a EUR 200 million sector budget support operation in two tranches to be executed over the 2018-2019 period to help achieve the objectives of PMV. The programme helps the authorities with the formulation and implementation of inter-sector strategic reforms to strengthen the social and environmental dimensions of the PMV and promote inclusion, sustainability and competitiveness in Morocco’s agricultural sector. Its design is informed by lessons from Phases I and II of PAPMV (cf. 4.4.3), the principles of the Paris Declaration as well as good practice principles for the application of conditionality. PADIDFA supports a series of medium- and short-term strategic reforms to improve the quality of life for the people through quality jobs and self-employment in rural areas, and the protection of such jobs through sustainable natural resource management. It is an important institutional lever for creating synergies between strategies governing agriculture, the environment, water, energy and employment.
Objectives
The programme objective is to help boost agricultural sector competitiveness to ensure inclusive and sustainable economic growth through the promotion of value chains, job creation, improvement of the business climate and sustainable natural resource management. Hence, PADIDFA will help to: (i) support the PMV ecosystem and amplify its impact; (ii) promote the inclusion of vulnerable stakeholders (especially the youth and women); and (iii) build agricultural sector resilience.
Target Groups
PADIDFA will benefit the Moroccan population in general, and the youth and women in the rural areas in particular. It will specifically benefit: (i) local councils; (ii) inter-professional associations and professional organizations; (iii) agricultural VSMEs and organizations (crop sectors, waste management, etc.); (iii) the private sector (training, research, private agricultural councils, etc.); (iv) project proponents and young agricultural and rural entrepreneurs due to improvement of the business environment; and (v) women's associations and rural women (access to value chains, land tenure security, local services, etc.).

The overall objective of the program is to strengthen the mainstreaming and integration of biodiversity conservation interventions into local development programs by: - Enhancing the sustainable forest management in selected woredas in selected zones in Oromia and South West Ethiopia People Regional States. - Improving gender equality and livelihoods of forest dependent communities, including women and youth, and - Building the capacity of Government stakeholders and local community groups at various levels.
Objectives
The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the sustainable management of biodiversity rich natural forests of the Southwest Ethiopia for enhancing ecosystem services and livelihoods improvement of communities living in and around the forest landscapes in Southwest Ethiopia. Furthermore, the project will contribute towards several commitments of Ethiopia for global partnerships such as the Paris Agreement of the UNFCCC, land degradation neutrality of the UNCCD, conservation targets and ambitions of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), AF100, AUs Agenda 2063 and the SDG. IUCN - Effective rights-based conservation for indigenous regional cooperation
General
The initiative is a project support which ??seeks to support the effective design and implementation of the rights and environmental justice approach in processes of conservation and sustainable resource management on indigenous lands and territories in Central and South America with nature-based solutions from their own vision as indigenous communities. It will help to strengthen governance structures and capacities to contribute to the management and integrity of the territories as a basis for the conservation of biodiversity, the increase of resilience and opportunities to improve their livelihoods. The project will support indigenous groups in Latin-America (Central America och the Amazon) by assisting: - indigenous communities in highly biodiverse ecosystems to apply tools and mechanisms to prevent and reduce the treats to their territorial management. - environmental defenders and leaders to improve their management, advocacy, and communication capacities for an equitable governance and defence of territorial rights. - indigenous people’s organizations and communications networks to make visible IPCL contributions to conservation, strengthen the prevention and denounce threats to their integrity. - environmental defenders and indigenous people’s organizations to harmonize their agendas ad action proposals to negotiate them in international and regional fora.
Objectives
The project "Advancing towards effective conservation and territorial management with a rights-based approach: strengthening indigenous regional cooperation in Latin America" seeks to support the effective design and implementation of the rights and environmental justice approach in processes of conservation and sustainable resource management on indigenous lands and territories with principles based on nature-based solutions from the perspective of indigenous peoples; strengthen governance structures and capacities to contribute to the management and integrity of the territories as a basis for the conservation of biodiversity and the increase of resilience and opportunities to improve their livelihoods. The project aspires to work on collaboration and dialogue actions between local actors (e.g. indigenous authorities and organizations) and with national and regional authorities and non state stakeholders, from an intercultural approach to consolidate governance structures, indigenous leadership and improve the inclussion and effective participation of women and youth in spaces for dialogue and decision-making on conservation and environmental issues. Sida considers that the project aims to strengthen environmental governance, justice and a rights-based conservation approach within Latin America through empowerment and capacity building for organizations, IPLCs and environmental leaders in a sustainable, culturally adapted and inclusive manner, and in the full exercise of their rights to prevent and address threats to their territorial management. In the long term the project will contribute to secure Indigenous peoples rights in conservation and territorial management of their territories and megadiverse ecosystems.
Sustainable Use of Natural Resources for Environment and Econ. Dev.-SUNREED - CNVP Sustainable Use of Natural
General
The overall objective of the concept proposal “Sustainable Use of Natural Resources for Environment and Economic Development, shortly SUNREED” is to increase the sustainable use of private forest resources and value chain development on renewable energy based on wood biomass (district heating system) that will generate a higher volume of forest goods and income opportunities to rural households. The project proposals goal will be achieved through the following two outcomes: Outcome 1: Private forest owners have increased value and sustainability of the forest stand ecosystems. Outcome 2: Value chains actors have increased wood biomass production, processing and final use. The implementing partner is CNVP Foundation. The project will be focused on addressing key constraint faced by the private forest owners and provide support to them in collecting evidence and advocating for policy and legal changes with public institutions in favor of private forestry.
Objectives
The overall objective of the program is: Poverty reduction for both women and men in forest areas through additional income and jobs from sustainably managed forests including wood biomass, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAPs), Non-Wood Forest Product (NWFPs) and carbon backed up by an enabling policy environment and supported by sustainable service provision by National Association of Private Forest Owners (NAPFO) and Association of Private Forest Owners (APFOs). To reach this objective the following outputs and outcomes have been proposed: Outcome 1: Increased incomes for Private Forest Owners (PFO) including women as a result of improved forest management and engagement in NWFP / MAP market systems There are 4 outputs that relate to this outcome: Output 1.1: Increased and diversified production from sustainably managed forest land; Output 1.2: Enhanced and sustainable service delivery by APFOs and the NAPFO to their members; Output 1.3: Women and youth living in rural areas engaged in forest-related market systems; Output 1.4: Enabling policy environment promoted, including a road-map for developing a carbon market. Outcome 2: A market system for wood biomass (wood chips), providing incentives for proper forest management and income generation for PFOs, and leading to reduced greenhouse gas impact Interventions that will lead to the realisation of this outcome can be grouped into 4 key outputs: Output 2.1: Output 2.1 Development of a national roadmap on wood biomass production, marketing and use Output 2.2: Establishment of four pilot wood biomass collection points supported; Output 2.3: At least 10 heating systems based on wood biomass promoted; Output 2.4: Increased information, capacities and learning on wood biomass market systems.
