These Regulations establish an action programme for nitrate vulnerable zones, implementing the requirements to establish such a programme in Article 5 of Council Directive 91/676/EC concerning the protection of waters against pollution by nitrates from agricultural sources. Regulation 3 requires the occupier of a farm or livestock unit all or part of which is in a nitrate vulnerable zone to ensure that the action programme set out in the Schedule to the Regulations is implemented in relation to the farm or livestock unit or to that part of it which is in the nitrate vulnerable zone.

These Regulations supplement Council Regulation (EC) No. 2078/92 on agricultural production methods compatible with the requirement of the protection of the environment and maintenance of the countryside. They include provisions to meet the requirements of Commission Regulation (EC) No.746/96 laying down detailed rules for the application of the Council Regulation. Commission Decision C(99)15 of 29th January 1999 approved in part the agri-environmental programme entitled "the Countryside Management Scheme" to which these Regulations give effect.

The present Law regulates the implementation of the Federal Agricultural Lease Act of 4 October 1985, the Agriculture Act of 29 April 1998 and the Federal Soil Act of 4 October 1991. The purpose of the present Act is to enforce and complete the federal legislation on agriculture and rural soil, to ensure favourable conditions and to promote an environmental-friendly management.

This Decision approves the master plan on the socio-economic development in the northern midland and mountainous region through 2020. The plan has the following objectives: ensure consistency with sectoral master plans; tap and bring into the fullest play all resources so as to attract development investment; expand markets, bolster exports; and boost economic development in a fast, effective and sustainable manner.

The purpose of these Regulations is to stabilize and improve the contracted management system of rural land, and effectively protect the rights and interests of farmers', and promote the development of agriculture, rural economy and rural social stability.

These Regulations implement Commission Regulation (EC) No 1122/2009, which establishes cross-compliance requirements under Council Regulation (EC) No 73/2009. They set out the requirements for claimants of subsidy under the single payment scheme. The requirements are set out in Schedule 1, and Schedule 2 lists exceptions from those requirements.

By establishing an action programme for nitrate vulnerable zones these Regulation implement, as regards Scotland, the requirements in this respect as laid down in article 5 of Council Directive 91/676/EC concerning the protection of waters against pollution by nitrates from agricultural sources. Regulation 3 requires an occupier of a farm or livestock unit comprising all or part of a nitrate vulnerable zone to ensure that the action programme set out in the Schedule to these Regulations is implemented. These Regulations establish an action programme for nitrate vulnerable zones and further implement, as regards Scotland, the requirements in Article 5 of Council Directive 91/676/EEC concerning the protection of waters against pollution caused by nitrates from agricultural sources to establish, review and revise an action programme for nitrate vulnerable zones.The Regulations require the occupier of a farm in a nitrate vulnerable zone to ensure that the provisions in these Regulations are implemented in relation to that farm.

This Ordinance provides for the protection of the coast of Guernsey. It prohibits the taking of material or breaking of rocks on the coastline without a permit of the States Board of Administration. The Board may attach to the grant of a permit under this section such conditions (including a condition that the permit shall only be operative during such period as shall be therein specified) as it may deem necessary or expedient.

These Regulations amend the Organic Farming Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2008 in regulations 2 to 5 so as to remove the definition of and words referring to "the Compendium of Organic Standards".
