The present Act provides for the management, regulation and administration of the ownership and use of land for socio-economic development and environmental well-being of the country through efficient and effective land administration, security of land tenure, equal opportunity to land, facilitation of operation of land market, effective use of land resources and conservation of the ecosystem.

The purpose of this Act, consisting of 5 Parts and one Schedule, is to control wild animals generally, and eradicate wild animals locally where necessary and practicable in order to ensure concerted action against the damaging effects of wild animals on vegetation, soils, waters, and wildlife, to provide for the regulation of recreational hunting, commercial hunting, wild animal recovery, etc.

Article 19 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Plots of land out of stock of land subject to redistribution (except for protection forest belts, rice irrigation systems and water abstraction facilities) shall be used by leaseholders for growing forage crops, viticulture, vegetables and fruits, and also for nurseries for agricultural plants with a view of production of seedlings and seeds”.

The Regulation makes provision regarding the following: payments on land in irrigation areas or special land districts, interests on arrears, addition of land to perpetual leases, transfer of yearly leases, conditions for yearly leases, appeals, restrictions on the exercise of mortgagee's powers, devolution under a will or an intestacy, fees for the valuation of land, subdivision of holdings, redetermination of rent of certain leases, objections to, and appeals against, determinations or redeterminations, purchase of land held under lease, fees to be paid for surveys.

The Act makes provision with respect to titles in land, the development of selected land, and the resolution of disputes regarding land and various other matters relating to land. As a corollary to the principle that land in Lesotho is vested absolutely and irrevocably in the Basotho Nation and is held by the State, no person, other than the State, shall hold any title to land except as provided for under customary law or under this Act. Where the customary law is inconsistent with this Act, this Act shall prevail (sect. 3).

The purpose of the present Act is to transfer control over Crown lands and natural resources from the federal government to the Province of Saskatchewan.Section 2 of the Act confirms the Agreement set out in the Schedule (Memorandum of Agreement, made on 14 December 1929).Under the present Natural Resources Transfer Agreement (N.R.T.A.) the Government of Canada agrees that provincial laws respecting game shall apply to the Indians within provincial boundaries in order to secure the continuance of the supply of game and fish for the support and subsistence of Indians.

This Regional Law establishes plenary powers and jurisdictional competence of state bodies and local government in the sphere of land relations. Regional Government shall be responsible for management of public land plots and also of land plots with undelimited ownership, expropriation of land for public needs, application of public servitude and application to land areas the status of protected areas.

This Decree amends Decree No. 198/2004/ND-CP on the collection of land use levies.Amendments shall include the following: minor changes to clause 3 of article 11 and the addition of a new clause 6 to article 11 on principles for land use levy exemptions or reductions; changes to article 12 on land use levy exemptions; and changes to clause 1 of article 13 on the reduction of land use levies.

Development and Planning (Amendment) Regulations, 2014

These Regulations amend the Development and Planning Regulations (2013 revision) in relation with tourism development, coastal zone development and setting aside of land for public purposes. An application for planning permission with any setback adjacent to the sea shall include a Mean High Water Mark survey physically defined on ground no more than six months prior to the application being submitted.
