National Academic Research and Collaborations Information System (NARCIS) is the main Dutch national portal for those looking for information about researchers and their work. NARCIS aggregates data from around 30 institutional repositories. Besides researchers, NARCIS is also used by students, journalists and people working in educational and government institutions as well as the business sector.
NARCIS provides access to scientific information, including (open access) publications from the repositories of all the Dutch universities, KNAW, NWO and a number of research institutes, datasets from some data archives as well as descriptions of research projects, researchers and research institutes.
This means that NARCIS cannot be used as an entry point to access complete overviews of publications of researchers (yet). However, there are more institutions that make all their scientific publications accessible via NARCIS. By doing so, it will become possible to create much more complete publication lists of researchers.
In 2004, the development of NARCIS started as a cooperation project of KNAW Research Information, NWO, VSNU and METIS, as part of the development of services within the DARE programme of SURFfoundation. This project resulted in the NARCIS portal, in which the DAREnet service was incorporated in January 2007. NARCIS has been part of DANS since 2011.
DANS - Data Archiving and Networked Services - is the Netherlands Institute for permanent access to digital research resources. DANS encourages researchers to make their digital research data and related outputs Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable.

LOGs (landbouwontwikkelingsgebieden) maken onderdeel uit van het landelijke reconstructiebeleid. Bijzonder voor Horst aan de Maas is dat een aantal agrarische ondernemers heeft aangegeven een zogenaamd Nieuw Gemengd Bedrijf (NGB) in dit gebied te willen vestigen. Hoewel de vergunningen nog niet zijn afgegeven, heeft de goedkeuring van de gebiedsvisie tot veel commotie geleid. In de aanloop naar de besluitvorming heeft vooral de mogelijke vestiging van het NGB tot veel maatschappelijke onrust en protesten geleid.
SMALL Savannah : an information system for the integrated analysis of land use change in the Far North of Cameroon

This system combines an observation and spatial analysis module for the representation of phenomena from various geographic data sources, with a module for the explanation and prediction of land use pattern and changes, and a dynamic modelling and simulation module for the exploration of possible land use change trajectories. |
Customary land tenure dynamics at peri-urban Ghana: Implications for land administration system modeling
Customary land tenure is criticized as dynamic with the institutional framework unable to provide enough tenure security at all times. It is also criticized as ineffective to cope with the trends in land tenure delivery at peri-urban areas where individualization of land and demand for land is high. The aim of this paper is to investigate how customary land tenure systems of Ghana meet the dynamic need of the modern life in peri-urban areas.
Land reform in Bolivia: the forestry question
textabstractIn this paper we discuss forestry issues related to land reform in Bolivia. We find that although the current land reform satisfies most of the conditions that are necessary for adequately addressing development issues in the agrarian sector, it does not deal with many of the challenges related to forest management and actually contains provisions that come in conflict with the objectives of sustainable forest management.
Using a touch table to support participatory land use planning
Designing land use plans for areas with multiple stakeholders is becoming an increasingly complex task. This paper presents a method to interactively develop land use plans with multiple stakeholders and conflicting objectives. In this method, spatial information plays a central role. Maps are used to communicate and exchange knowledge among policy-makers and stakeholders. This is done through a series of interconnected workshops, where interaction between stakeholders is prompted through the use of maps, decision support tools and an instrument called the 'touch table'.
