These Regulations of the Cabinet Secretary for Land and Physical Planning implement provisions of the Community Land Act, 2016 ("Act") with respect to, among other things, recognition, protection and registration of community land rights, community land management committees, registration of communities, conversion of community land, settlement of disputes relating to community land, conversion of group representatives, a national programme for public education and awareness on provisions of the Act and the rights of communities over community land, and the preparation of Community Rules an
Land Registration (Registration Units) Order, 2017 (S.I. No. 277 of 2017).
This Order of the Cabinet Secretary implements provisions of the Land Registration Act in respect to the establishment and operation of land registration units as constituted under section 6 (l) of the Act. The Cabinet Secretary establishes registration units as set out in the First Schedule.
Land Regulations, 2017 (S.I. No. 280 of 2017).
These Regulations implement provisions of the Land Act, 2012, with respect to a variety of matters including administration of public land and private land, conversion of freehold or leasehold tenure, compulsory acquisition, settlement programmes, easements and analogous rights, and evictions from unlawfully occupied public land.The National Land Commission shall keep and maintain a data base of all public land and an inventory of land based natural resources.
National Land Commission (Investigation of Historical Land Injustices) Regulations, 2017 (L.N. No. 258 of 2017).
These Regulations of the National Land Commission, made under section 36 of the National Land Commission Act, 2012, concern correction of historical land injustices that occurred in a period between 1895 and 2010. Pursuant to Article 67 (2) (e) of the Constitution and section 15 (1) of the National Land Commission Act, 2012, the Commission may initiate investigations on its own initiative or upon a complaint into historical land injustices and recommend appropriate redress.
Marsabit County Tourism Act, 2016 (No. 8 of 2016).
This Act concerns the development of tourism in Marsabit county. It provides for the formulation of a county tourism strategy by the Executive Committee Member and the establishment of the establishment of Tourism Regulatory and Licensing Unit. One of the objects of the Act is to promote the practice of responsible and sustainable tourism (defined). The Executive Committee Member may by notice in the County Gazette designate tourism Areas in consultation with the Cabinet Secretary responsible for Tourism at the National level.
