Presidential Decree No.575 regarding improvement of the provision of state and other needs with cartographic information.

The President, for the purpose of improvement of the system of the provision of state and other needs with cartographic information, activization of fundamental and applied scientific research, development of production output, wide-scale application of the advanced achievements of the national and foreign science, techniques and technology and regulation of state management in this sphere, decrees as follows: 1) to entitle the Cabinet of Ministers with the task of activization of the fundamental research of the Earth, monitoring of research activity at the geodynamic testing areas, on the territories of intensive anthropogenic load for the purpose of regulation of the system of forecasting of seismic and other dangerous processes and natural phenomena; 2) speeding-up the development of the national topographic, geodetic and cartographic production on the basis of highly precise aero-spatial zoning, digital and other modern technologies and methods; 3) creation of the system of land, hydrological, forest, landscape and other state thematic maps of various scales.
