The Minister may authorize a surveyor to survey land for the purpose of determining the suitability or otherwise of the land for public purposes specified in the Order of authorization (sect. 3). "Surveyor" means the Chief Surveyor, any Government surveyor deputed by the Chief Surveyor or a Sworn Land Surveyor designated by the Minister (sect. 2). The owner or occupier of the land shall not be entitled to compensation except in respect of damage to improvements existing on the land at the time of entry thereupon (sect. 4). No surveyor shall be held liable under civil or criminal law in respect of any act done or omitted in good faith for purposes of the survey (sect. 5). (6 sections)
