India’s National Food Security Mission, guided by the National Food Security Act, initiated a submission on nutri-cereals focusing on millet crops. In the wake of contestations surrounding different frames of food security and food sovereignty, millet has emerged as a critisector pcal link between women’s labor and local food systems.

In rainfed agricultural systems, like in Lao PDR, where rainy season rainfall is a crucial water source for agricultural production, accurate prediction of the rainfall seasonality indices (onset, cessation, and LGP) is critical for agricultural planning.

Global and local data consistency and interoperability is lacking for many crucial aspects of agrobiodiversity. Here we present a summary of public data availability for agrobiodiversity-related indicators of regional agrifood systems. Data have been drawn from surveys, reports and censuses in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Pakistan.
