The 1915.70 hectares of state land from forest cover 2002 in Sangkat Samaki, Krong Stung Treng, Stung Treng province was privatized for social land concession project to allocate to former armed forces and their families.

The 2471.41 hectares of state land which was cut off from state public land in Yeang commune, Choam Ksant district, Preah Vihear province was privatized for social land concession to allocate to the Bodyguard Headquarters and their families for resident and family farming.

The purpose of this sub-decree is to privatize state public land of which size is 3469 hectares, in Boeung Lvea Commune, Santuk District, Kampong Thom Province, in order to grant social land concessions to 253 families who were affected by a riverbank collapse in Peam Village and Peam Krao Village, Peam Koh Sla Commune, Strung Trang District, Kampong Cham Province.

The purpose of this sub-decree is to privatize forest reserve of which size is 594 hectares, and grant social land concessions to military families living in Srekor Commune and Talat commune, Sesan district, Stung Treng province.

The Commission for Gender Equality presented on its proposed campaign called One Woman, One Hectare of Land’. The campaign aims to mainstream gender equality, for it was proposed that the State should allocate one hectare of land, for the growing of food, to the poorest rural female-run households. It was believed that this would help alleviate poverty and empower rural women. It was pointed out that where women had land, their families generally were better nourished, better educated and able to move on.

This event coincided with the launch of a campaign of the African Land Policy Centre (ALPC) to reach the target of having 30 percent of all registered land in the name of women by 2025 and to embed women’s land rights into the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
