The purpose of the present Act is to establish a public intervention scheme for the rational exploitation of environmental resources. The scope of this plan is remediation and restoration of polluted sites involving marine areas, lakes and rivers. The Ministry of Health shall start the plan, together with the Regions, in national interest sites and in industrial areas (art. 1).

This Law shall regulate protection and state management of protection of immovable cultural properties, located within the territory and territorial waters of the Republic of Lithuania, and according to right of ownership, belonging to the state, local governments, religious organizations and other legal and natural persons.

The declared (sect. 3) objects of the Act are: ensuring effective and ecologically sustainable management of forest resources; promotion of a sustainable commercial timber industry, and; protection and conservation of forest resources, habitats and ecosystems including the maintenance of ecological processes and genetic diversity.

This Law establishes and declares the area of the state nature park with a special reserve "Kopački Rit" as a Croatian National Nature Park, with the total area of 177 km ².This Law further provides all necessary information and regulates its borders.

By this Law, the area called "Vransko jezero" or Vransko Lake and its shores, with a total area of 57 square kilometers, is declared as Croatian nature park " Vransko jezero".

By this Law, the area called Papuk, with a total area of 336 km ², is declared as Croatian nature park "Papuk."The Croatian Government will establish a public institution to manage the nature park "Papuk" within 6 months from the date of entry into force of this Law.

This Law makes some smaller tecnica corrections to the provisions prescribed by the article 1 of the Law declaring the nature park "Učka" (Official Gazette 45/1999).

This Law declares a new nature park on the territory of the Croatian Republic.Area Učka and part Ćićarija, with a total area of 146 km2, is declared a nature park "Učka".

This Regional Law regulates relations in the sphere of organization, protection and management of protected areas. It classifies protected areas as follows: (a) state nature reserves, including biosphere reserves; (b) national parks; (c) nature monuments; (d) dendrological parks and botanical gardens; and (e) healthcare areas and spas.

This Act makes provision with respect to the protection and conservation of ancient monuments and related matters such as the acquisition of land by the Government for purposes of this Act.
