National Academic Research and Collaborations Information System (NARCIS) is the main Dutch national portal for those looking for information about researchers and their work. NARCIS aggregates data from around 30 institutional repositories. Besides researchers, NARCIS is also used by students, journalists and people working in educational and government institutions as well as the business sector.
NARCIS provides access to scientific information, including (open access) publications from the repositories of all the Dutch universities, KNAW, NWO and a number of research institutes, datasets from some data archives as well as descriptions of research projects, researchers and research institutes.
This means that NARCIS cannot be used as an entry point to access complete overviews of publications of researchers (yet). However, there are more institutions that make all their scientific publications accessible via NARCIS. By doing so, it will become possible to create much more complete publication lists of researchers.
In 2004, the development of NARCIS started as a cooperation project of KNAW Research Information, NWO, VSNU and METIS, as part of the development of services within the DARE programme of SURFfoundation. This project resulted in the NARCIS portal, in which the DAREnet service was incorporated in January 2007. NARCIS has been part of DANS since 2011.
DANS - Data Archiving and Networked Services - is the Netherlands Institute for permanent access to digital research resources. DANS encourages researchers to make their digital research data and related outputs Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable.

The spatial fragmentation of different biomass sources in one or more regions makes design and assessment of sustainable biomass delivery chains rather complicated. This paper presents a GIS tool that supports the design and facilitates a sustainability assessment of biomass delivery chains at a regional level, in terms of the regional availability of resources, costs, logistics and spatial and environmental implications. Green House Gas (GHG) efficiency targets are part of it.
Landschaftspläne in Europa: Status quo und Perspektiven konzeptioneller Landschaftspläne im europäischen Vergleich: Zusammenfassendes Ergebnispapier: Inspirierender Expertenaustausch über Landschaftsplanung: Expertenworkshop des BfN vom - 17.- 20.09.20...
Die Vortragenden wurden im Vorfeld gebeten folgende Aspekte zu berücksichtigen: 1. Wie sind "Landschaftspläne" in das Planungssystem ihres Landes eingebunden, d. h. wie ist ihr Verhältnis zur Raum-, Naturschutz-, Kultur- und Umweltplanung? 2. Was sind wichtige Inhalte a) der Analyse sowie b) der Entwicklungskonzeption der Pläne? Zugleich wurden die Referenten gebeten, einen guten oder erfolgreichen Landschaftsplan ihres Landes auszuwählen und diesen auf dem Workshop vorzustellen und zugänglich zu machen.
Ruimte voor bouwen in het buitengebied : de uitvoering van de oude Wet op de Ruimtelijke Ordening (WRO) in de praktijk
De processen achter de verstening van het buitengebied zijn in beeld gebracht door een combinatie van interviews, archiefonderzoek en geografische informatie. Het studiegebied bestaat uit de gemeenten Boxtel, Schijndel en Sint-Oedenrode. Bebouwing is vooral mogelijk door de ruimte die bestemmingsplannen biedt volledige te gebruiken. Ook wordt er voor economische belangen afgeweken van bestemmingsplannen met instemming van gemeenten en provincie. Toch wordt er vooral gebouwd op bestaande bouwblokken in het buitengebied en ontstaan er relatief weinig nieuwe bouwblokken.
Nieuwe WRO: nieuwe bestuurscultuur?
Onder de huidige WRO is vaak onduidelijk welk beleid echt kaderstellend is en wat via overleg onderhandelbaar is. Vaak leggen rijk en provincies kaders niet duidelijk vooraf op, maar gebeurt dit achteraf bij toetsing van streekplannen en bestemmingsplannen. Dit artikel geeft een jurisch kader en bevoegdheden op niveau van: rijk, provincie en gemeente en geeft de perspectieven van de nieuwe Wro voor provincies.
De meerwaarde van kunst in gebiedsprocessen
Kunst kan wellicht een meerwaarde geven aan gebiedsontwikkeling door mensen op een andere manier te betrekken bij het gebied. Ernst Bos van het LEI en Pat van der Jagt van Alterra geven vier voorbeelden, namelijk: De Groene Jonker (binnen landinrichtingsproject de Venen), Nollenproject (in binnenduin De Nollen bij Den Helder), kunst in de forten van de Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie (Fort Vechten), Strokasteel (kasteel van strobalen in Veenhuizen, gebouwd door PeerGroup).
