La presente Ley tiene por objetivo promover activamente la equidad de género entre hombres y mujeres y la plena igualdad de derechos y oportunidades para el desarrollo de la mujer tamaulipeca. Para ello la Ley establece medidas preventivas y positivas o compensatorias, al fin de evitar prácticas discriminatorias por acción u omisión en contra de la mujer.
