The present Act lays down provisions relating to the constitution of special areas in the Province of Alberta. For the purpose of the present Act “public land” means land belonging to the Crown in right of Alberta and under the administration of the Minister and “special area” means a special area constituted under this Act. Section 16 rules that no public land situated in a special area shall be sold without the consent of the Minister. Section 29 establishes the Special Areas Board which administrate the special areas. The text consists of 30 sections.

The present Regulation is made under the Special Areas Act. For the purpose of the present Regulation “public land” means land belonging to the Crown in right of Alberta and under the administration of the Minister. Section 4 establishes that the Minister may refuse to issue or renew a disposition if the applicant or holder has a debt owing to the Crown or the Board arising out of the operation of the Act or this Regulation.

The present Regulations are made under the Conservation Easement Act. In particular, the Regulations lay down provisions relating to the designation of eligible bodies. Section 4 establishes that if the Minister is satisfied that an organization complies with the present Regulations, the Minister may approve the application and recommend to the Governor in Council that the organization be designated and that its name be added to Schedule “A”. This Notice of the Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, made under section 16 of the Environment Conservation Act, 1989, designates in the Schedule the Administrator and the local authorities who may issue written authorization for the undertaking of activities which are identified in GN. R. 879 in respect of the Outeniqua Sensitive Coastal Area referred to in that Government Notice. Those activities include: disturbance of vegetation, dredging, dune stabilisation and earthworks.

This Notice of the Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, made under section 21 of the Environment Conservation Act, 1989, identifies activities that may have a detrimental effect on the environment in respect of areas included in Schedule 2, which form the Outeniqua Sensitive Coastal Areas. Those activities include: disturbance of vegetation, dredging, dune stabilisation and earthworks. The Notice shall not apply to activities of a like nature carried out in the normal pursuit of agriculture or gardening.

This Notice of the Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, made under section 26 of the Environment Conservation Act, 1989, concerns authorization of activities as identified G.N. No. 879 that may have a detrimental effect on the environment in respect of the Pennington Sensitive Coastal Area and Umtamvuna Sensitive Coastal Area. Those activities include: disturbance of vegetation, dredging, dune stabilisation and earthworks. An application for a permit shall be made to local authorities and shall be accompanied by an environmental impact assessment.

This Notice of the Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, made under section 21 of the Environment Conservation Act, 1989, identifies in Schedule 1 activities that may have a detrimental effect on the environment in respect of areas included in Schedule 2, which form the Pennington Sensitive Coastal Area and Umtamvuna Sensitive Coastal Area. Those activities include: disturbance of vegetation, dredging, dune stabilisation and earthworks.

This Notice of the Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, made under section 26 of the Environment Conservation Act, 1989, concerns authorization of activities as identified G.N. No. 879 that may have a detrimental effect on the environment in respect of areas forming the Outeniqua Sensitive Coastal Area. Those activities include: disturbance of vegetation, dredging, dune stabilisation and earthworks. An application for a permit shall be made to local authorities and shall be accompanied by an environmental impact assessment.

This Notice of the Minister of Financial Affairs and the Environment, made under section 16 of the Environment Conservation Act, 1989, declares the Laurens River area described in the Schedule to be a Protected Natural Environment and specifies directions that shall be applicable to the area. Those directions principally concern construction and the control of weeds and invader plants in the area and safeguarding of the free flow of water

This Notice of the Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, made under section 22 of the Environment Conservation Act, 1989, designates in the Schedule the provincial authority and the local authorities who may issue written authorization for the undertaking of activities which are identified in GN. R. 1529 in respect of the Pennington Sensitive Coastal Area and Umtamvuna Sensitive Coastal Area referred to in that Government Notice. Those activities include: disturbance of vegetation, dredging, dune stabilisation and earthworks.
