National Academic Research and Collaborations Information System (NARCIS) is the main Dutch national portal for those looking for information about researchers and their work. NARCIS aggregates data from around 30 institutional repositories. Besides researchers, NARCIS is also used by students, journalists and people working in educational and government institutions as well as the business sector.
NARCIS provides access to scientific information, including (open access) publications from the repositories of all the Dutch universities, KNAW, NWO and a number of research institutes, datasets from some data archives as well as descriptions of research projects, researchers and research institutes.
This means that NARCIS cannot be used as an entry point to access complete overviews of publications of researchers (yet). However, there are more institutions that make all their scientific publications accessible via NARCIS. By doing so, it will become possible to create much more complete publication lists of researchers.
In 2004, the development of NARCIS started as a cooperation project of KNAW Research Information, NWO, VSNU and METIS, as part of the development of services within the DARE programme of SURFfoundation. This project resulted in the NARCIS portal, in which the DAREnet service was incorporated in January 2007. NARCIS has been part of DANS since 2011.
DANS - Data Archiving and Networked Services - is the Netherlands Institute for permanent access to digital research resources. DANS encourages researchers to make their digital research data and related outputs Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable.

Onder de huidige WRO is vaak onduidelijk welk beleid echt kaderstellend is en wat via overleg onderhandelbaar is. Vaak leggen rijk en provincies kaders niet duidelijk vooraf op, maar gebeurt dit achteraf bij toetsing van streekplannen en bestemmingsplannen. Dit artikel geeft een jurisch kader en bevoegdheden op niveau van: rijk, provincie en gemeente en geeft de perspectieven van de nieuwe Wro voor provincies.
De meerwaarde van kunst in gebiedsprocessen
Kunst kan wellicht een meerwaarde geven aan gebiedsontwikkeling door mensen op een andere manier te betrekken bij het gebied. Ernst Bos van het LEI en Pat van der Jagt van Alterra geven vier voorbeelden, namelijk: De Groene Jonker (binnen landinrichtingsproject de Venen), Nollenproject (in binnenduin De Nollen bij Den Helder), kunst in de forten van de Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie (Fort Vechten), Strokasteel (kasteel van strobalen in Veenhuizen, gebouwd door PeerGroup). Even afrekenen alstublieft! : een studie naar het opzetten van afrekenbaar beleid met Agenda Vitaal Platteland als voorbeeld
Het beleid voor het platteland staat in de Agenda Vitaal Platteland. Deze studie beschrijft het opzetten van een monitoringsystematiek voor een afrekenbaar plattelandsbeleid. Of het beleid en de monitoring goed ‘gelukt’ zijn, is pas goed te bespreken bij de eindevaluatie in 2014. De studie beschrijft de stappen die gemaakt zijn in het proces. De auteur evalueert waar mogelijk het proces op basis van criteria die zijn ontleend aan beleidsstukken en literatuur.
Qualitative assessment of the High Resolution soil sealing layer for the Netherlands
The CLC2006 databases were produced by the Centre for Geo-Information (Alterra-WUR), the NRC Land cover for the Netherlands. The national CLC2006 project took place under the umbrella of the overall GMES Fast Track Service Percursor (FTSP) Land Monitoring. The basis for the production of the CLC2006 databases was the CLC2000 database that was also produced by the same team of Alterra. Alterra was also involved in the production of the CLC1990 database and the change database between 1990 and 2000.
Kennis voor Nationale Landschappen, een analyse van kennisuitwisseling en implementatie in 2007 en 2008
Frankrijk en Zwitserland hebben een planningssysteem met verplichte ruimtelijke plannen en vrijwillige landschapsplannen. Landschap als een verplicht onderdeel van ruimtelijke plannen. Landschapsplannen worden vaak gemaakt in een samenwerking van meerdere lokale overheden. Ze worden aan het begin van een planningsproces ingezet voor het maken van een analyse, het creëren van draagvlak en het vormen van een visie. Het Nederlandse beleid voor landschapsontwikkelingsplannen zou kunnen leren van het buitenland door meer landschapsregels in te zetten en een centrale kennisbasis op te zetten.
