This Decree Law represents the basic legal framework in matter of forestry. Since it was enacted in 1923, it must be coordinated with the Constitution, which entrusts particular legislative and administrative competences to the Regions in matter of forestry as well (art. 117). The Decree consists of seven Titles. Title I makes provision for the protection of the public interests. To this end, certain restrictions shall be applied to private lands, so as to guarantee the public safety and protect the water regime.

The present Regional Act lays down provisions in matter of abandoned lands, uncultivated lands and lands which are insufficiently cultivated, so as to ensure the rational exploitation of agricultural lands falling within the Emilia Romagna Region and encourage the general agricultural development. First of all, articles 2 and 3 define the elements and criteria to be taken into account to determine the abandoned or uncultivated lands to which the present Act shall apply. The Provinces are in charge of the census and classification of lands.

This Protocol has been adopted in implementation of the Alpine Convention as regards soil protection. The Protocol consists of the following Chapters: (I) General Provisions; (II) Specific Measures; (III) Research, Education and Information; (IV) Implementation, Control and Valuation; (V) Final Provisions. The Protocol pursues the sustainable and efficient maintenance of soil, since it represents a vital element for mankind, animals, plants and micro-organisms.

In implementation of the Alpine Convention of 1991, the Signatory Parties have concluded this Protocol to promote their cooperation in matter of territorial planning and sustainable development. The Protocol is divided into five Chapters: (I) General Provisions; (II) Specific Measures; (III) Research, Education and Information; (IV) Enforcement, Control and Assessment; (V) Final Provisions. The Parties undertake to adopt territorial planning and sustainable development policies by harmonizing both economic interests and environmental protection requirements (art. 3).

The Tanzania Tobacco Board is established as a body corporate under section 3. The Basilicata Region promotes and arranges a general land reclamation scheme in order to provide for the territorial maintenance, the rational exploitation of water resources, soil conservation, agricultural development and improvement of agricultural production. The Region shall elaborate directives so as to plan the interventions to be undertaken by safeguarding at the same time the rural environment. With a view to implementing the land reclamation plans, the regional territory devoted to the said land reclamation shall be divided into different territorial areas (art. 3).

This Recommendation lays down principles to be followed in the implementation of Council Resolution of 6 May 1994 on a Community strategy for integrated coastal zone management. The Recommendation consists of six Chapters: (I) A strategic approach; (II) Principles; (III) National stocktaking; (IV) National strategies; (V) Cooperation; (VI) Reporting and review. Member States shall adopt a strategic approach to the management of their coastal zones.
