Forest Tenure

These Regulations implement provisions of the Timber Resources Management Act, 1997 with respect to the granting of timber rights and related matters and regulate the calculation and payment of stumpage fees and the registration and use of chainsaws.The Regulations set out the procedures for the inventory and reservation of specified lands for timber utilization.

The aid granted under these Regulations aims at the management of land of broadleaved woodland compatible with the requirements of the protection of the environment the beneficiaries of aid shall conclude an agreement with the Secretary of State in which management requirements laid down in the Schedule to these Regulations are included.

The present Regulations implement, for Scotland, changes made to Council Directive 85/337/EC, implemented by the 1998 Regulations, made by Council Directive 97/11/EC.

This Decree provides for the assignment of forestry land by the State to organizations, households and individuals for "stable and long-term" use in the form of land assignment without land use levy or lease of forestry land (art. 1).

This Decree establishes the modalities of calculation of damages caused to forestry and compensation thereof. It is related to transformation of forestland in case of allotment thereof for purposes not related to forest management and/or deterioration of soil or productivity of forestland.

This Order establishes the list of requested technical documentation and the modalities of transfer of forest land to the category of unforested land for the purposes not related to forest and forest fund management.

This Regulation is based on article 21 of Act No.

This Decision of the Prime Minister concerns so-called PAM forests, i.e. forests planted with the World Food Program aid capital. It outlines principles of management and use of such forests and lays down conditions for PAM forest owners. It also outlines rights and duties of Pam forest owners in specified regions and as regards certain forest areas.

These Regulations implement provisions of the Conservation and Protection of the Physical Landscape of The Bahamas Act, 1997 concerning the application for, and the granting of, permits for excavation or landfill operations or the to harvesting of protected trees and a licence to quarry or mine.

The Regulation of the Minister of Environment, Natural Resources and Forestry, which is composed of five Chapters, establishes that the auction to sale forests, lands or other immovable properties managed by the State Forests, is organized by a special commission which consists of 3 to 7 members. The commission selects the sale method (Chapters 2-4).

Part 1 of the Second Schedule to the Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations, 1994 (S.I. No. 86 of 1994) is hereby amended by the substitution of the following for the part of the said Schedule relating to the development within the curtilage of a dwelling house. changes made relate to Class 1 of Part 1 of the Second Schedule (domestic extensions).
