Attainment of MDG-7 (environmental sustainability) requires the realization of sustainable agriculture systems. There is now inexorable pressure on world agriculture to play a much wider range of roles than ever before.

A fin de recoger nuevas ideas relativas al tema del respaldo institucional a la aplicacin de la poltica forestal, se celebr una Consulta de Expertos sobre Administracin Forestal para el Desarrollo patrocinada por la FAO y la Oficina Central Sueca para la Ayuda Internacional (SIDA) en la sede de la FAO, en Roma, del 2 al 11 de febrero de 1983. Asistieron a titulo personal veintinueve expertos de una amplia gama de disciplinas provenientes de 24 pases de Africa, Asia, Europa, Amrica Latina y Amrica del Norte. Land Tenure Working Paper 1. This document analyzes the implications for land tenure and land policy of biofuels. It examines the current and likely future impacts of the increasing spread of biofuels on access to land in producer countries, particularly for poorer rural people. It aims to pave the way for future empirical research on the links between the spread of biofuels and access to land, through developing a conceptual framework for such research and through taking stock of data available in the literature.

This guide on Gender and access to land has been prepared to support land administrators in governments and their counterparts in civil society who are involved in land access and land administration questions in rural development. It is frequently the case that gender issues are left out or misunderstood in such situations, often with negative results. This guide is designed to show where and why gender inclusion is important in projects and programmes that aim at improving land tenure and land administration arrangements.

This paper summarizes the good practices by nine selected OECD countries that seek to promote responsible foreign investment in developing country agriculture, primarily by investors in their territory or jurisdiction. The study provides examples of the increasing trend of home countries in establishing binding legal norms and other mechanisms as safeguards that are relevant for agricultural investment.
