Impact of phosphogypsum application at different doses on the properties of irrigated dark-chestnut soils in the Rostov region

Journal Articles & Books
Décembre, 2015
Fédération de Russie

The aim of the research is to investigate the impact of different doses of phosphogypsum as a chemical amendment on physical and physical-chemical properties of irrigated dark-chestnut soils in rice systems under constant flooding. The scheme of experiment: 1) moldboard tillage to the depth of 20-22 cm (control); 2) moldboard tillage to the depth of 20-22 cm + 10 t/ha of phosphogypsum (10 t/ha +PG); 3) moldboard tillage to the depth of 20-22 cm + 40 t/ha of phosphogypsum (40 t/ha PG); 4) imitation of soil milling to the depth of 20-40 cm + 10 t/ha of phosphogypsum (ISM + 10 t/ha PG).

Agromeliorative measures – the important reserve of Poozerja drained soils efficiency increase

Bélarus

In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were presented the efficiency of connected applications on drained soils Lakeland area of the main melioration activities to drain the excess water on the surface and arable soil layer, increasing runoff, creating additional reserves of available moisture in the subsurface layer, and others aimed at improving the productivity of reclaimed land.

The state of soil cover and pedogenic rock in the farm Raygorod of theVolgograd region was investigated. The plot had an area of 1000 ha. The aim of the study was to justify the suitability of the plot for irrigation and develop the measures for increasing soil fertility. As a result of morphological structure, water-physical and physicochemical soil properties at the investigated plot were determined. The soils of the plot are suitable for irrigation. There is a need of chemical land reclamation because of alkalinity and calcium unsaturation of the soil exchangeable complex.

The paper considers the influence on chernozem soil properties after the autumn application of calcium chloride as an amendment at the rate of 2.4 t/ha. At the end of the first year of aftereffect the results of soil analyses have shown the influence on such indices as pH, alkalinity and content of chloride, exchangeable cations and carbonates. During the winter period with 200-300 mm of precipitation chlorides from said amendment are leached to the depth of 50 cm.

Impact of amelioration system renovation on the growth of mature forest stands

Conference Papers & Reports
Décembre, 2010
Lettonie

Both forestry theory and practice have proved that amelioration favours the growth of forest stands significantly. The growing stock increases even 10 times, if the amelioration system is well-functioning. Joint Stock Company Latvia State Forests that is managing half of forests in Latvia has started renovation of old amelioration systems aiming to improve the productivity of state owned forests in Latvia. In order to evaluate the impact of the renovation of the old amelioration systems, a tree ring width in 7 pine stands, 5 spruce stands and 3 birch stands was analysed.

Fédération de Russie

Substantiated was the use of formal methods in the development of adaptive-landscape farming systems. The study was conducted in the Tver region. The article proposes to determine the values of macroagrogeosystem production potential (PP) by calculating integrated productivity parameters of different locations. There were distinguished 11 types of landscapes within the Tver region. The values of integrated indices were calculated.

Drainage systems and their water management function with regard to probable climatic and hydrological changes

Policy Papers & Briefs
Mars, 2006
République tchèque

Some scenarios of probable climatic changes in the Czech Republic and the anticipated effect of these changes on the components of the hydrologic water discharge from drained agricultural and forest catchments are studied. The function of drainage systems on selected experimental lands is examined. The effect of climatic changes on the hydrologic balance and/or on the runoff from the catchments significantly varies up to +/-150% provided that we compare the average runoff.

Use of phosphogypsum and phosphogypsum-containig amendments for sodic soil improvement under irrigation

Journal Articles & Books
Décembre, 2012
Fédération de Russie

Studied was the impact of phosphogypsum and phosphogypsum-containig amendments on the properties of ordinary chernozem degraded due to irrigation with mineralized water (1.7-2.0 g/l), as well as on the crop yield. It was established the decreasing of soil sodicity by 50% upon applying the total calculated dose of phosphogypsum (10 t/ha), the increasing of calcium content in soil exchangeable complex up to optimal parameters (85%), the achieving of good water-stability of soil.
