Joseph Salukvadze works at the Department of Human Geography, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Joseph does research in Urban and Tourism Geographies, and Land-Use Planning. His current projects are (1) "Transdisciplinarity for Sustainable Tourism Development in the Caucasus Region", funded by APPEAR/Austria (Project 139), and (2) A ‘Belt and Road Initiative’ construction project – “Hualing’s projects in Georgia”; the Silk Road Environment Program of the Chinese Academy (IGSNRR).
