A passion for practice. Applying systems thinking to complex problems. I have five years experience working for FAO in policy and programming and project management work in Cambodia, working on food security, market linkages, farming systems improvement and the finalisation of the first census of agriculture. Looking for mid- to long-term project work in food security, agriculture and development management. Before coming to work with FAO in 2010 I have spent most of my working life teaching in agriculture and related fields. I have taught for over 25 years in tertiary institutions in Australia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Cambodia. During that time I have worked on many extension, research and development projects throughout the Asia Pacific Region. These have included both long term and short term assignments in agriculture, forestry, fisheries and natural resource management. My specialisations have evolved over the years from botany to agronomy, extension and communications and resource economics; changing somewhere along the way from specialist to generalist, as a socio-economist who has reached a dynamic equilibrium in the sphere of systems-
thinking.
