This investigation was conducted for both constituting an urban land use planning and criticizing the appropriateness of the uses with respect to ecology by taking into consideration the ecological factors in the centre and the periphery of Çanakkale city. A method based on "Maximum Values Map Approximation Method" was used in this present study. A suggested land use map of the study area was constructed for these usage types according to the arrangements of their priorities by the experts. After the investigation in this study area of about 34 km², the percentages of the protected, agricultural, forest, recreation, settlement and industries were found suitable for 4,88, 50,00 11,67, 2,73, 29,85 and 0,44 respectively.
Bu araştırma, Çanakkale kent merkezi ve yakın çevresinde ekolojik faktörlerin de dikkate alındığı bir kentsel alan kullanım planlamasının oluşturulması ve ekolojik açıdan kullanımların uygunluğunun irdelenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında; "En Yüksek Değerler Haritası Yaklaşımı"na dayanan bir yöntem kullanılmıştır. Araştırma alanı için seçilen altı kullanım tipinin uzmanlar tarafından belirlenen öncelik sıralamasına göre (koruma, tarım, orman, rekreasyon, yerleşim, sanayi) bir arada yer aldığı öneri alan kullanım haritası oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmanın sonucunda; yaklaşık 34 km²'lik araştırma alanının; %4,88'i, koruma, %50,00'si tarım, %11,67'si orman, %2,73'si rekreasyon, %29,85'si yerleşim ve %0,44'si sanayi için uygun bulunmuştur.
