Dynamic Occlusion Modeling and Clearance Control of the Visual Field of Curved Highway Roadside Landscape

LandLibrary Resource
Peer-reviewed publication
декабря, 2022
Global

In order to solve the control of the degree of anti-occlusion of the roadside landscape of the expressway curve according to the drivers’ visual characteristics during high-speed driving, a dynamic space model of the visual process of curved highway roadside landscape was established, and the calculation equation of roadside landscape visual field was derived.

GPU-Accelerated Anisotropic Random Field and Its Application in the Modeling of a Diversion Tunnel

LandLibrary Resource
Peer-reviewed publication
декабря, 2022
Global

In this paper, a GPU-accelerated Cholesky decomposition technique and a coupled anisotropic random field are suggested for use in the modeling of diversion tunnels. Combining the advantages of GPU and CPU processing with MATLAB programming control yields the most efficient method for creating large numerical model random fields.

Multi-Scenario Simulations of Land Use and Habitat Quality Based on a PLUS-InVEST Model: A Case Study of Baoding, China

LandLibrary Resource
Peer-reviewed publication
декабря, 2022
Global

Habitat quality and ecosystem service value (ESV) are important foundations for sustainable development. Baoding, as the strategic hinterland of Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei, is of great significance to regional ecological conservation and sustainable urban development.

Malaysia’s Forest Pledges and The Bornean State of Sarawak: A Policy Perspective

LandLibrary Resource

декабря, 2022
Malaysia

Malaysia deforested 6.3 million hectares since independence; 91% of which occurred before Malaysia pledged, at the Earth Summit in 1992, to maintain a minimum 50% of its terrestrial area under forest cover. However, under economic and population pressure, Sarawak—the largest contributing state to the country’s current forest cover of 54.8%—shows continuing deforestation even after 1992.

Do Financial Linkages Ease the Credit Rationing of Forest Rights Mortgage Loans? Evidence from Farm Households in Fujian Province, China

LandLibrary Resource
Peer-reviewed publication
декабря, 2022
China

Affected by the small scale of forest farmers’ land and the imperfect development of the forest land transfer market, China’s forest rights mortgage loans have suffered from more serious credit rationing. The application of financial linkage theoretically has the effect of solving credit rationing.

Landowners Are Interested in Payment for the Ecosystem Services of Forestry: The Case of Korean Private Forests

LandLibrary Resource
Peer-reviewed publication
декабря, 2022
Global

As no market or compensation scheme exists for the provision of ecosystem services for private forest owners, landowners have become more interested in timber and forest production or the conversion of forests into other lands. We tested a hypothesis on the willingness of landowners to accept payments for the ecosystem services of nature-friendly forestry.

Urban Expansion Simulation Coupled with Residential Location Selection and Land Acquisition Bargaining: A Case Study of Wuhan Urban Development Zone, Central China’s Hubei Province

LandLibrary Resource
Peer-reviewed publication
декабря, 2022
China

The urban expansion process involves multiple stakeholders whose interactions and decision-making behaviors have a complex impact on urban land conversion. In this study, we established an urban expansion simulation model that couples two sub-models: the residential location selection model and the land acquisition bargaining model.

Can Africa Serve Europe with Hydrogen Energy from Its Renewables?—Assessing the Economics of Shipping Hydrogen and Hydrogen Carriers to Europe from Different Parts of the Continent

Germany

There exists no single optimal way for transporting hydrogen and other hydrogen carriers from one port to the other globally. Its delivery depends on several factors such as the quantity, distance, economics, and the availability of the required infrastructure for its transportation. Europe has a strategy to invest in the production of green hydrogen in Africa to meet its needs.

Leadership helps to build strong organizations with resilient cultures. It is established that leadership needs a transition powered by digital technologies to tackle the shift from workplace culture to remote work, which is being practiced even after the pandemic to reduce operational costs and improve flexibility.

Why Do Farmers Support Stable Land Ownership? Marketization with Chinese Characteristics

LandLibrary Resource

China

Recent debates regarding marketization have focused on the relationship between the state and the market, while the grassroots and their everyday experiences have arguably been understudied. In this paper, we study marketization with the example of land marketization in China.
