A Settlement Officer and Assistant Settlement Officers shall be appointed to ensure the proper implementation of the law relating to land settlement.The Ordinance establishes the procedure to be followed by said officers for the acquisition of any land that may be classified under the following categories: (a) forest, waste, unoccupied, uncultivated land or other land that can only be cultivated after intervals of several years; (b) cultivated or otherwise improved land which was classified under the above categories within the period of twenty-five years next preceding the date of the settlement notice issued by the Officer.
