This report was prepared by Centre for Land Governance, NRMC, the Secretariat of India Land & Development Conference 2017. This report provides an overview of the proceedings of India Land & Development Conference, organized at India International Centre, New Delhi, India on April 5-6th 2017.
This report consists sharing of experiences, knowledge and practices over eight thematic sessions, two panel discussions and a special session.
Eight Sessions in the Conference are as follows:
Session-1: IT & Land Governance
Session-2: Land Rights of Women
Session 3: Governance & Managment of Village Commons and Other Public Land
Session 4: Land Conflicts, Investment and Development
Session-5: Land Leasing Reforms & Accelerated and Inclusive Agricultural Growth
Session 6: Customary Tenure & Community Land Rights
Session 7: Institutions of Land Governance
Session 8: Landscape Restoration, Land Tenure And Resource Rights
Apart from the above thematic sessions, there was Panel discussion on Urban Land Governance, Special Session on Land Policy and Civil Society and special land and development dialogue session.
The members of the organizing committee included Azim Premji University, Center for Land Governance (NRMC), FAO India, Foundation for Ecological Security (FES), IFAD, Landesa, Rights and Resource Group (RRG), Niti Aayog, Council for Social Development, WRI India, Oxfam India. TISS, CIMP and IDSK were knowledge partners and the Land Portal, Netherlands was the media partner.
