This report provides a deep dive on the Sen AgriHack 2023, the innovation challenge organized by AICCRA to address post-harvest losses in Senegal. Through Sen AgriHack 2023, AICCRA created a dynamic platform for interdisciplinary collaboration among participants and stakeholders to generate relevant solutions to challenges faced by farmers and value chain actors.

The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) conducted a one-day workshop on “Leveraging the Role of Computer Vision in Agriculture Applications” as part of the CGIAR Initiative on Digital Innovation Initiative (DI). The workshop was organized at Delhi Technological University (DTU) on 20th November 2023.

The objective of this research was to assess the effectiveness of the innovation platform (IP) (Terbol Station) on the wheat seed sector in Lebanon. Data were collected from 16 seed producers after identifying and mapping the key stakeholders in the seed sector.

The adzuki bean (Vigna angularis), known for its rich nutritional composition, holds significant promise in addressing food and nutritional security, particularly for low socioeconomic classes and the predominantly vegetarian and vegan populations worldwide.

The frequency of El Niño occurrences in southern Africa surpasses the norm, resulting in erratic weather patterns that significantly impact food security, particularly in Zimbabwe. The effects of these weather patterns posit that El Niño occurrences have contributed to the diminished maize yields.

The integration of AI in agricultural management presents a world of opportunities and challenges. We have explored various aspects, from addressing inadequate information and limited capabilities to bridging the digital divide and concerns about job displacement.

In Ethiopia, the production of livestock has been mainly constrained by low quality feed supply and seasonal fluctuations. The usage of good quality and drought-tolerant forage legumes like white lupin and tree lucerne are recommended to overcome feed constraints. Those legumes fix atmospheric nitrogen when being in symbiosis with rhizobia and thereby reduce the need for synthetic fertilizers.

This guide is here to help smallholder farmers deal with the challenges of climate change and make their farms more resilient. By going through this manual, we want to not only assist farmers in adapting to climate change but also enhance their food security and livelihoods. The goal is to build farming households that can withstand the impacts of a changing climate

This report seeks to understand the value of genetic improvement for different traits for Tilapia in Nigeria (in economic and non-market preference terms), with the ultimate goal of developing a breeding objective based on underlying economic models (and/ or non-market preferences).

CONTEXT
Wheat (Triticum aestivum) is among the most important staple food crops in the lowland Terai region of Nepal. However, national production has not matched the increasing demand. From a South Asian regional perspective, average productivity is low with high spatial and temporal variability.
