This issue of Unasylva contains, as promised in the previous edition, additional articles on sustainable mountain development. These articles help to complete the focus on the topic and should also help to promote interest in the recently declared International Year of the Mountain (2000) for which FAO has been designated lead agency status within the United Nations system.

وقد تم إعداد هذا الدليل على الجنس والحصول على الأراضي لدعم مديري الأراضي في الحكومات ونظرائهم في المجتمع المدني الذين يشاركون في الحصول على الأراضي وإدارة الأراضي  أسئلة في التنمية الريفية. وهذه هي حالة أن يتم ترك قضايا المساواة بين الجنسين خارج أو سوء فهم في مثل هذه الحالات، وغالبا مع نتائج سلبية في كثير من الأحيان. تم تصميم هذا الدليل لإظهار أين ولماذا إدراج النوع الاجتماعي مهم في المشاريع والبرامج التي تهدف إلى تحسين حيازة الأراضي وترتيبات إدارة الأراضي. ويوفر المادي لرفع مستوى الوعي لبعض القضايا الأكثر أهمية بين الجنسين التي تهدد الحصول على الأراضي والاستفادة من نتائجه.

The project “Community level legal education and support to help rural women secure and exercise land and resource rights, and address HIV-AIDS related tenure insecurity - GCP/MOZ/086/NOR”, hereinafter abbreviated as GCP/086, is the most recent of a series of FAO initiatives implemented, to a large extent, in partnership with the Juridical and Judicial Training Centre (CFJJ) of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Mozambique as well as in partnership with a number of National NGOs. GCP/086 started in March 2010.

Safeguarding property rights of vulnerable people is an important policy issue, not least in the quest for poverty reduction in poor societies. This issue has become urgent due to recent developments, including the AIDS epidemic, globalization, climate change and other similar social and natural forces. This study sets out to assess the extent to which property and inheritance rights of widows and orphans are violated or protected in the context of HIV and AIDS in two rural communities in Tanzania.

This study focuses on the gender dimension of agriculture-related legislation, examining the legal status of women in three key areas. The result is an analysis identifying the main legal and some non-legal factors that affect the existence and exercise of women’s agriculture-related rights.

Este número doble de Unasylva busca desentrañar las complejas relaciones que median entre bosques, árboles y desastres, y examinar las mejores formas en que los bosques y árboles pueden gestionarse tanto para resistir a las conmociones como para proteger contra ellas. Los bosques y árboles pueden sin embargo actuar como sistemas naturales de amortiguación frente a las catástrofes y perturbaciones. Desempeñan una función poderosa en la protección contra los desastres y la reducción de sus efectos.

This issue of Unasylva focuses on the challenges facing forestry extension and current attempts to respond to them.

Le présent manuel sur La parité hommes-femmes et l'accès à la terre a été rédigé pour aider les administrateurs fonciers dans les gouvernements et leurs homologues dans la société civile jouant un rôle dans l'accès à la terre et dans l'administration foncière dans le cadre du développement rural. Les questions de parité hommes-femmes sont fréquemment omises ou sous-estimées et cela a souvent des répercussions négatives.

En conclusion, des informations actuelles, fiables et transparentes sur le secteur forestier sont un ingrdient vital du processus d'amnagement durable. Toutes les organisations et institutions engages dans la gestion durable des forts devraient exploiter les moyens offerts par Internet pour coordonner et relier les serveurs et optimiser ainsi la valeur des informations disponibles. Comme promis dans la prcdente dition, ce numro d'Unasylva contient de nouveaux articles sur le dveloppement durable des montagnes, qui viennent ainsi complter le tour d'horizon de la question.
