I have worked in private sector agri-business for more than twenty-five years, predominantly in sub-Saharan Africa. I have worked primarily in the tea and sugar sectors working in operations in the field, however since relocating to the UK in 2015 I have widened my experience to include other staple crops and alternative industries. I currently work in forestry in West Africa; Sierra Leone and Ghana. My motivation has been to use business as a conduit for development through responsible investment practices. I have a practical approach and experience of implementing responsibly developed and managed supply chains with a focus on imbedding smallholder and community development, human rights and land rights into the business operational practices.
