Jeanette has worked as a researcher, development facilitator and project manager in the development field for over 30 years, specialising in forestry in the context of poverty reduction and livelihood security. She has worked in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and a number of other countries in southern and eastern Africa. Areas of expertise include: sector reform including review and development of national forestry policy and strategies; institutional support and capacity building; participatory programme design, support and evaluation; research and human rights based advocacy. Jeanette has been involved with the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) for the past twenty years, as a social specialist on certification audits and in the development of national and international FSC policies and standards.
