National Academic Research and Collaborations Information System (NARCIS) is the main Dutch national portal for those looking for information about researchers and their work. NARCIS aggregates data from around 30 institutional repositories. Besides researchers, NARCIS is also used by students, journalists and people working in educational and government institutions as well as the business sector.
NARCIS provides access to scientific information, including (open access) publications from the repositories of all the Dutch universities, KNAW, NWO and a number of research institutes, datasets from some data archives as well as descriptions of research projects, researchers and research institutes.
This means that NARCIS cannot be used as an entry point to access complete overviews of publications of researchers (yet). However, there are more institutions that make all their scientific publications accessible via NARCIS. By doing so, it will become possible to create much more complete publication lists of researchers.
In 2004, the development of NARCIS started as a cooperation project of KNAW Research Information, NWO, VSNU and METIS, as part of the development of services within the DARE programme of SURFfoundation. This project resulted in the NARCIS portal, in which the DAREnet service was incorporated in January 2007. NARCIS has been part of DANS since 2011.
DANS - Data Archiving and Networked Services - is the Netherlands Institute for permanent access to digital research resources. DANS encourages researchers to make their digital research data and related outputs Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable.

Loss of biodiversity, including agro-biodiversity affects smallholders in dry-land regions by decreasing the buffering capacity of the agro-ecosystem and increasing proneness to yield variability including crop failure due to weather extremes. Loss of biodiversity is associated with land use/land cover (LULC) changes that are related to a range of biophysical and socio-economic drivers.
2007 : van goed onderzoek naar beter beleid
In 2007 is het onderzoek van het cluster VLG ondergebracht in zeven onderzoeksthema’s: Bodem, Water, Klimaat, Stad & Platteland, Landschap, Europees Plattelandsbeleid en Investeringsbudget Landelijk Gebied (ILG). Wat is het effect van de onderzoeksresultaten voor het beleid? Hoe komen we tot goede kennisvragen? Hoe kan het beste verbinding maken tussen het wetenschappelijk onderzoek, beleid en de praktijk? Deze veelgestelde vragen zetten kennisdoorstroming en kennisbenutting hoog op de agenda.
Worlds apart : interactions between local initiatives and established policy
This book describes interactions between policy makers and coialitions of private actors such as citizens, enterprises and researchers. Even though 'policy makers' are generally associated with formal government bodies, all of the above mentioned actors are in fact policy makers. This study goves three examples from Biesland Polder (Zuid-Holland), Grensschap Albertkanaal (Zuid-Limburg) en Loonsche Zand (Natuurmonumenten, Noord-Brabant)
Hotspot Zuidplaspolder: Climate adaptation in the Zuidplaspolder
Building at the lowest point in the Netherlands, in the Zuidplaspolder, is viewed as a challenge and not something that is impossible. The Xplorelab approach in the Hotspot Zuidplaspolder project is a combination of research, implementation of ideas into inspiring examples and evaluation.
Commentaar op het preadvies voor de Vereniging van Agrarisch Recht d.d. 25 april 2008 'Pacht: stand van zaken en toekomst' van Louis Slangen
In zijn preadvies voor de Vereniging van Agrarisch Recht (gepubliceerd in Agr.r.2008, p. 118 e.v.) levert dr. Slangen kritiek op het advies van de Commissie Pachtnormen van 2006. Dit advies heeft, zoals bekend, ten grondslag gelegen aan het nieuwe pachtprijzenstelsel. De kritiek van Slangen is vermeld in de hoofdstukken 6 en 7 van het preadvies `Pacht: stand van zaken en toekomst¿ en houdt ogenschijnlijk geen verband met de inhoud van de overige hoofdstukken. In deze bijdrage willen wij ingaan op deze kritiek.
