The City of Damascus, through a Goal 5 Planning grant from the Oregon Department of LandConservation and Development, retained a consultant team led by Winterbrook Planning toconduct an inventory of natural resources within the city limits. The inventory addresses thefollowing natural resources: wetlands, riparian corridors, wildlife habitats, groundwaterresources, and Oregon scenic waterways. This inventory addresses Statewide Planning Goal 5,which requires local governments in Oregon to protect natural resources and conserve scenic andhistoric areas and open spaces. The inventory is part of the City’s efforts to address long-termgrowth management goals and to complete a Comprehensive Plan for the new City, which wasincorporated in November, 2004.
