This Act amends the Land Sales Act in provisions concerning land acquired by non-residents. The Act modifies the definition of "resident" and inserts a new section (7A) on acquisition of State or freehold land within town borders by non-residents for residential purposes. This shall not limit or prevent the sale, transfer or lease of any State land or freehold land to a non-resident for: (a) industrial or commercial purposes; (b) residential purposes within an integrated tourism development; or (c) the operation of a hotel. Acquisition of land by non-residents outside of town borders shall be subject to restrictions.
