This Regional Law defines the modalities of establishment of protected areas of local significance that can be set up by proposal of local government, citizens, legal persons and social associations. The aforesaid proposal shall be accompanied by the following documentation: (a) explanatory note containing description and substantiation of the area and the boundaries, category and name of proposed protected area, characteristics of soil, water, wild flora and wild fauna species, including rare and endangered ones, proposed for protection; and (b) cartographic materials and mapping of the territory.
