This Act sets up a Ministry of Lands, Parks and Housing. For the purposes of this Act the minister may enter into agreements with; the government of Canada or its agent, or the government of a province or its agent, or with any other person or a municipality.
This Act allows a minister to make an agreement with a landowner who qualifies under this Act and Regulations, permitting the owner to defer paying all or part of the tax payable on the eligible property during the term of the agreement.
