The Order sets out requirement standards for good agricultural and environmental conditions in order for farmers to comply with regulations on granted subsidy for land development, in accordance to the Rural Development Programme for the period 2007-2013. Criteria for being eligible to these subsidies shall be found in Appendix 1, with exception of 4.1 (Establishment and maintenance of vegetation on uncultivated land), 4.2 (Maintenance of vegetation on uncultivated land), 4.5 (Maintenance of vegetation on permanent grass areas) and 4.12 (Maintenance of vegetation on temporary grassland) and which does not implement Council Directive 79/409/EEC of 2 April 1979, Council Directive 92/43/EEC of 21 May and the European Parliament and Council Directive 2000/60/EC of 23 October 2000. Uncultivated land must be kept with vegetation until cultivation is resumed, and must be mowed at least once every two years from 1 July to 15 September. Permanent pasture must be once every year during the same period be mowed, or replaced by grazing, as long as the land is used, where more than 50% of plant cover reaches a grass height of under 40 cm. Subareas under 100 m2 with a grass height of over 40 cm are accepted and must be kept free of trees and shrubs. Where water is abstracted for irrigation purposes, maximum recovery amount of groundwater and surface water shall not be violated in accordance to article 22 of the Water Supply Act.Appendix 1 - Summary of requirements for good agricultural and environmental conditions in 2013.Appendix 2 - Conversion table for horse, ruminants and cattle.
