In recent years, Zambia has witnessed increased interest from private investors in acquiring land for

agriculture. As elsewhere, large-scale land acquisitions are often accompanied with promises of capital

investments to build infrastructure, bring new technologies and know-how, create employment, and

improve market access, among other benefits. But agricultural investments create risks as well as

This study investigates the gender dimensions of the socioeconomic outcomes of selected agricultural investments in Northern Tanzania. The report draws on a review of the literature and on field research conducted in 2011. Fieldwork mainly involved stakeholder interviews and focus groups discussions with investors, local farmers, outgrowers and wage workers involved with two private-sector companies – in horticulture and jatropha – and with group-based producer schemes organized with the assistance of a member-based organization.

This Act, among other things, recognizes the Minerals Management Board as established by section 214 of the Constitution and provides rules relative to exploration and exploitation of minerals in Swaziland. The Act defines functions and powers of the Board, establishes an office of the Commissioner of Mines and defines functions of the Commissioner of Mines. A distinction is made between small-scale and large-scale operations for the purposes of this Act.

Land Claims and Self-Government Agreement among the Tlicho and the Government of the Northwest Territories and the Government of Canada.

The present Agreement is the first combined land, resources and self-government Agreement in the Northwest Territories. Canada, the Government of the Northwest Territories(GNWT) and the Tlicho are Parties to the Agreement. The Agreement provides the Tlicho with ownership of a single block of 39,000 square kilometres of land, including subsurface resources, adjacent to or surrounding the four Tlicho communities. The Agreement also provides for self-government. A regional Tlicho Government was created with law-making authority over Tlicho Citizens in their communities and on their lands.

Tla’amin Final Agreement.

This comprehensive Agreement between Canada, British Columbia and the Tla’amin Nation is a Treaty and a Land Claims Agreement within the meaning of sections 25 and 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982. The Agreement exhaustively sets out the rights of Tla’amin First Nation, their attributes, the geographic extent of those rights, and the limitations to those rights to which the Parties have agreed.

It also empowers the Minister to regulate radioactive minerals.The Minister of Lands, Mines and Energy shall be the main administrative authority for purposes of this Act. The Act establishes a Minerals Technical Committee and a Mineral Development Fund.The Act sets out various mineral rights and the conditions at which they can be obtained.

La présente ordonnance fixe les règles d'acquisition de la propriété des terrains urbains, à l'exception de ceux destinés à l'industrie ou à la promotion touristique Aux termes de cette ordonnance, toute occupation d'un terrain urbain doit être justifiée par la possession d'un titre de concession définitive délivré par le ministre chargé de la Construction et de l'Urbanisme. Le transfert de propriété sur un terrain urbain relevant du domaine de l'Etat est opéré par l'arrêté de concession définitive.
