These Regulations implement, in relation to projects for the use of uncultivated land and semi-natural areas in Northern Ireland for intensive agricultural purposes, Council Directive 85/337/EEC on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment and Council Directive 1992/43/EEC on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora insofar as it applies to such projects. Provision is made for the screening of “relevant projects”.

Decree No. 509 of 2000 relative to the establishment of the Environment, Nature and Town and Country Planning Research Council.

The Environment, Nature and Town and Country Planning Research Council shall carry out research regarding aspects of the environment, town and country planning and nature conservation and restoration in the Netherlands. The Council may submit policy proposals to the Minister of Agriculture, Nature Conservation and Fisheries, shall coordinate research efforts in the sector, shall indicate new issues in the sector regarding the environment and nature conservation and carry out other tasks laid down in article 4.

The Government, for the purpose of speeding-up of the reform of housing and municipal services, as well as for more active participation of the population in the process of the improvement of urban planning, decrees to validate the Regulation. This Regulation determines targets, tasks and the modalities of carrying out social and hygienic monitoring and formation of the Federal Information Fund containing data of social and hygienic monitoring. Monitoring is carried out for the purpose of ensuring sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population. Data collected within the framework of monitoring regard the following parameters: 1) State of public health and environment, including social factors – public feeding and water supply. 2) Natural and climatic factors such as groundwater, surface water and land use planning.

This Regulation, of 36 sections and one Annex, gives definitions and makes provisions for the preservation of lands due to land erosion in Israel. Section 1 gives definitions. Section 2 regards the declaration of Special Zones listed in the Annex to this regulation. Section 3 establishes conditions for grazing in special zones. Only the director of the Land-Preservation Department can authorize such grazing. Section 4 prohibits from a person to carry out preservation operations unless authorized and planned by the Director.

Regulation made under the Fertilizing Substances Act and amending the Decrees cited in the title for the purpose of further reducing the pollution of water and soil by nitrate compounds caused by animal manure. Rules for good agricultural practice are prescribed in the framework of Council Directive 91/676/EEC concerning the protection of waters against pollution caused by nitrates from agricultural sources.

In implementation of the Alpine Convention of 1991, the Signatory Parties have concluded this Protocol to promote their cooperation in matter of territorial planning and sustainable development. The Protocol is divided into five Chapters: (I) General Provisions; (II) Specific Measures; (III) Research, Education and Information; (IV) Enforcement, Control and Assessment; (V) Final Provisions. The Parties undertake to adopt territorial planning and sustainable development policies by harmonizing both economic interests and environmental protection requirements (art. 3).
