Decree No. 377 of the Cabinet of Ministers validating the Regulation on Centre for specialized analytical control in the field of environmental protection under the jurisdiction of the State Committee on Geology and Mineral Resources.

The Regulation defines the main tasks, functions, rights and responsibilities, as well as the organization of activities, in particular ensuring analytical (laboratory) control in the sphere of environmental protection of the Centre for specialized analytical control in the field of environmental protection. The main tasks of the Centre shall be as follows: (a) systematization and generalization of the results of analytical control, information on sources of air pollution, surface water, soil, fauna and flora; (b) organization of analytical control over observance of environmental safety requirements for waste disposal, ensuring radiation safety; (c) management and provision of organizational, methodological and practical assistance to the territorial offices of the State Committee on Geology and Mineral Resources in performance of work on monitoring of pollution sources, analytical control over compliance with the requirements of environmental legislation; (d) development, improvement, completion and implementation of progressive sampling methods and physical and chemical analyses of emissions, discharges and soil contamination; and (e) ensuring the implementation of control and arbitration measurements of emissions into the atmosphere, analyzing the quality of discharged sewage and environmental pollution.
