This Law, consisting of 43 articles divided into five Chapters, creates the Ecological and Economic Zone of the State of Acre. This Ecological and Economic Zone aims at orienting the planning, management, activities and decisions made by the public, private power and civil society, related to land use and settlement, considering the potentialities and limitations of natural, biotic and socio-economic sectors, and at the practical implementation of sustainable development.For regional planning purposes the Acre area is divided into four areas, as follows: Zona 1 - Consolidation of Sustainable Production Systems, promoting the expansion of good practices for sustainable production of agricultural activities, agro-forestry and forest in an integrated manner also to strengthen family farmers that use Agroecological approaches and to support programs for food security and nutrition at local, state and federal level; Zone 2 - Sustainable use of natural resources and environmental protection, carrying out necessary actions for land regulations, as an essential condition to ensure the fulfillment of the objectives of conservation units, indigenous lands and differentiated settlement projects; Zone 3 - Priority areas for land use planning, consisting of non ordered areas still in the setting process, that are priority for land use planning indicating the sustainable use of natural resources; and Zone 4 - Cities in the State of Acre, it consists of urban areas of the State of Acre municipalities, surrounded by different rural and forest landscapes.
