This Regional Law establishes legal status and competence of authorized representatives of indigenous peoples with a view of ensuring traditional rights of indigenous peoples, traditional environment and traditional way of life thereof. Authorized representatives of indigenous peoples can be non-governmental entities, associations or natural persons. Authorized representative shall have the following rights: (a) to make proposals related to institution of traditional nature areas of indigenous peoples, legal status and protection thereof; (b) to take part in supervision over land tenure of land of traditional management of indigenous peoples; (c) to participate of environmental audit related to traditional nature management of indigenous peoples; and (d) to inform indigenous peoples of their activity.
