The Latvia University of Agriculture (LLU) Strategic Development Plan 2010-2016, was developed during 2009 and approved by the LLU Senate on June 10, 2009.
In order to perform its functions and implement its goals and objectives, the Latvia University of Agriculture has developed three activity programs:

3. Administrative and financial support for studies and research work
The goal of the Latvia University of Agriculture is to provide the possibility to obtain higher academic and higher professional education in agriculture, veterinary medicine, food technology, engineering, forestry science, social science, information technologies and environment management sectors as well as to develop science and to maintain and develop the Latvian intellectual potential and culture.
The objectives of the LLU:
To ensure the study quality corresponding with the standards of a national university what would allow to educate competitive specialists for the Latvian and international labor markets.
To develop the scientific potential to participate in international research, to integrate the academic education and research what would ensure introduction of innovative, knowledge - based technologies into the Latvian national economy, specially, in the Zemgale region.
To ensure sustainable development for the university as a national education, science and culture institution:
to strengthen the legal basis;
to improve the organizational structure in accordance
to the LLU objectives;to develop cooperation with institutions, academic education and science institutions in Latvia and abroad, enterprises and professional organizations and regional institutions of Zemgale;
to manage the LLU material and technical basis effectively.

Socio-economic development, public safety of local communities and environmental protection are the major pillars of the concept of sustainable development of rural areas in Europe. Land consolidation is a complex and time-consuming undertaking, which requires high expenditures, yet it plays an important role in the policy of sustainable and multi-functional development. The rapid climate change observed in recent years, resulting in a number of unusual weather conditions, has also had an effect on the directions of land consolidation development.
Food and bioenergy – evidence from Poland
The goal of the article is to evaluate whether production of modern biofuels in Poland competes with food production. CSO and AMA data have been used in the analysis. The data in question refers to the area of arable land in Poland, yields and livestock as well as renewable energy production structure and quantity and production of biodiesel, bioethanol and agricultural biogas. Data concerning quantity of raw materials used for production of the agricultural biogas have been accessed from AMA. Data for 2005−2015 have been collected.
Productivity performance in agriculture: comparison of the Baltic Countries
The productivity and its performance is one of the core topics of economics studies. The growth of productivity is an indicator of competitiveness, as well as a possible way to achieve economic growth and wellbeing. After joining the EU, the agriculture of the Baltic countries faced increasing competition of the EU Single Market, while having relatively lower productivity indicators.
Spatial borders of a real-estate ownership title under present legal conditions in Poland
In the broadly understood process of real estate management owners and users as well as other entities participate, inter alia, banks, courts, notaries, appraisers, managers and intermediaries in property transactions, investors, construction supervision services, and architectural and construction administrative bodies, for which up-to-date, complete information on real estate is a prerequisite for taking appropriate decisions. Since 1989, real estate, and thus information on it, has become an important element of the economic development and functioning of the State.
Improving the efficiency of use of agricultural land in the Republic of Kazakhstan
The agricultural lands have a special legal regime and are subject to the protection aimed at limiting the seizure of these lands, preserving and increasing their fertility. The area of lands of this category in the structure of land Fund accounts for 100.8 million hа, or 38.6% of used land. Their share in the land Fund of the regions ranges from 70-75% (North-Kazakhstan, Akmola region) to 10-20% (Kyzylorda, Atyrau region). It is mainly related to different climatic conditions and vast areas of desert and semi-desert rangelands.
