These Regulations, made by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment under sections 67 and 136 of the Mining Act, concern assignment of prospecting licences, prospecting permits for medium-scale mining operations and mining permits over areas as specified in the Regulations (reserved areas). Rights may be assigned by public auction, lottery, and applications by invitation. Areas of land that were not allocated shall revert to being vacant state land. The Minister shall appoint a Committee for purposes of allocation of mineral properties with respect to reserved and designated areas.
