The present Law lays down provisions relating to competent authorities enabled to deal with town and country planning and environmental questions.

This Act concerns the management of land and its resources, including mines, minerals easements, servitudes and all other interests in real property (sect. 1).
Under section 1, the purpose of this Act is to promote appreciation of the Yukon’s historic resources and to provide for the protection and preservation, the orderly development, and the study and interpretation of those resources. It consists of 85 sections and is divided into 7 Parts.
