Measuring above-ground carbon stock using spatial analysis and the InVEST model: Application in the Thoria Watershed, India
We present an application of the method to the Thoria watershed in India. We analyze land cover changes in the Thoria watershed between the years 2000, 2020 and future scenarios, and subsequently map the above-ground carbon stock using the InVEST model along with remotely sensed data. The land use products and above-ground carbon stock modelling results can be used by diverse stakeholders to support land use planning, especially decisions around how to allocate land resource to balance food production, carbon sequestration, and other ecosystem services provided by common lands.
Framework for advancing water resource sustainability and climate resilience through local-scale hydrological modeling in the Mekong Delta
The Mekong Delta is a vast region that is crucial for providing food to millions of people. However, climate change and human activities are causing water scarcity, floods and soil salinization, which are a threat to food security and livelihoods. To tackle these issues, the CGIAR Initiative on Asian Mega-Deltas (AMD) is working towards creating more resilient, inclusive and productive deltas that can adapt to climate change and other challenges.
HER+ work package 2: Bundling Socio-technical Innovations (STIBs) for women’s resilience and empowerment in Africa and Asia
Summarized activities of how socio-technical bundles have been integrated and taken up by partners in the learning labs in Kenya, Ethiopia and India
Framework for advancing water resource sustainability and climate resilience through local-scale hydrological modeling in the Ganges Delta
The Ganges Delta has large agricultural landscapes that provide food for millions of people. However, changes in climate and anthropogenic activities are causing water scarcity, floods and soil salinization, threatening food security and putting livelihoods at risk. To address these challenges, the CGIAR Initiative on Asian Mega-Deltas (AMD) is working to create more resilient, inclusive and productive deltas that can adapt to climate change and other stressors.
Development of a Course on Cost-Benefit Analysis of Resilience Interventions
This event introduced members of AICCRA cluster teams, and AICCRA collaborators in their networks with an interest in cost-benefit analysis, to a curriculum that has been developed based on the new methods for cost-benefit analysis in the CIS theme cluster.
Estrategias locales de desarrollo sostenible de bajas emisiones en zonas rurales: Informe de actividades en la Sierra Central del Perú
The implementation of activities in 2023 is focused on integrated emissions reduction and sustainability, as well as promoting investments in value chains oriented towards national and regional objectives of adaptation and mitigation of climate change, poverty, social inclusion and biodiversity.
PERUMIN INSPIRA. Identificando Emprendimientos en Espacios Rurales en Base a la Innovación.
One of the options for the development of family farming is to promote access to different markets (national or international). Related to this, various contributions in relation to the analysis of the development problems of rural markets highlight two fundamental aspects that must be faced: the few opportunities in local markets and the limited access to more dynamic markets with competitive products.

Silvopastoral Restoration to Enhance Ecosystem Services and Increase Farmers' Income
The presentation delves into the multifaceted issues surrounding silvopasture degradation. It investigates the root causes, with a spotlight on the adverse impacts of climate change, improper grazing practices, and encroachment of agricultural activities. Silvopastoral systems, as a subset of agroforestry, strategically integrate woody perennials, forages, and livestock to enhance agricultural production and environmental services.
Development of a Climate Smart Financing Bundle for Tomatoes in Ghana
The report aims to provide an overview of the feasibility and pre-implementation phase activities being undertaken by AICCRA under The Aggregator Growth Development & Investment Program in Ghana to co-design a comprehensive scalable climate-smart bundled finance solution targeting the Tomato Value Chain.
Expanding capacity for translating seasonal climate forecasts into actionable information for agriculture and water sectors in West Africa: Lessons learnt and way forward
AGRHYMET has recently proposed a novel approach for translating seasonal climate forecasts into actionable information for adaptation planning for agriculture and water sectors using sectoral biophysical and process-based models. The aim is to finetune and generate forecast-based recommendations for these two sectors to better support effective adaptation planning and reduce risks associated with biases and subjective recommendations.
