DAR launches titling project to enhance land tenure security
The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) on Thursday launched the P24.625 billion World Bank-funded Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) project, which aims to improve land tenure security and stabilize property rights of 1,140,735 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) nationwide.

LAND-at-scale is a Dutch government program that contributes to improving land governance. The program supports better food and nutrition security, economic development, peace and stability in developing countries. It also contributes to sustainable incomes and social justice. In October last year, the program took off with 13 promising project ideas in different countries.
LAND-at-scale: Frequently Asked Questions
The Dutch LAND-at-scale program was launched in March last year and since then, two rounds for land intervention ideas have been released. The program seeks ideas that contribute to improving land governance in developing countries, and that ultimately support better food and nutrition security, economic development, peace and stability in these countries. At this moment, projects for 16 countries are actively being formulated in close collaboration with embassies and other in country stakeholders.

The Quezon City government has bought a property in Barangay Bagong Silangan and Payatas to house some 3,000 informal settlers.
Mayor Joy Belmonte has signed the deeds of sale of 214,057 square meter property.
“Ito’y umpisa ng hangarin nating mabigyan ng katiyakan sa paninirahan ang mga informal settlers sa ating siyudad (This is the start of our dream to assure informal settlers that they would have their own homes in the city),” Belmonte said, noting that when she was elected mayor, part of her agenda is to address the concerns of the city’s informal settlers.
VGGT Guidelines To Address Challenges In The Fishing Sector
The Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security (VGGT) guidelines is to address key challenges in the fishing sector.
The VGGT guidelines were unanimously endorsed on May 11, 2012 by the UN Committee on World Food Security as an international instrument that can be used by many different actors to improve the governance of tenure of land, fisheries and forest.
It is a voluntary and not legally binding instrument.
