The conference theme of “Strengthening Southern-driven cooperation as a catalyst for ICT4D” seeks to stimulate and encourage critical discussions on the different facets of Southern-driven cooperation, its promises, potential, for creating a better world, and the challenges we face in achieving the promised potential.Grounded by Geoff Walsham’s question, ‘Are we making a better world with technology?’ (Walsham, 2012); the conference will aim at offering context-rich theories, methodologies and practical guidance on the use of ICT’s to empower local communities.

The fourth edition of the India Land and Development Conference took place from 2-4 March, 2020, in New Delhi, India, and provided platforms for enriching and interdisciplinary conversations on how Institutions, Innovations and Information matter for influencing and impacting land governance.

Data use across the land sector remains limited by a lack of openness, limited clarity about responsible data sharing, and disconnected data silos, serving particular communities and ignoring the needs of others. 

Groundwater makes up roughly 30% of global freshwater. It also provides drinking water for the world’s population, and irrigation for close to 1/3rd of global agricultural land. Because of this level of reliance, monitoring groundwater is crucial for water resources and land management.
